Incubators Best is an electronic device based on the ESP32 microcontroller, designed to continuously monitor temperature, humidity, and power supply status in an incubator.
The device functions as a standalone system for monitoring, alarm notification, and data logging. It displays current parameters on an OLED screen, stores historical data in its internal memory, maintains an event log, transmits information via Wi-Fi, and sends notifications via Telegram.
This is not a standard thermometer or hygrometer, but a full-fledged networked module for monitoring the condition of an incubator.
Main Purpose
The device can be used for:
• egg incubators;
• brooder boxes;
• grow chambers;
• greenhouses;
• drying chambers;
• refrigeration or climate chambers;
• rooms where temperature, humidity, and power supply need to be monitored.
Key Technical Specifications
Central Controller
The device runs on an ESP32 microcontroller.
The ESP32-C3 provides:
• Wi-Fi connectivity;
• operation of a local web server;
• communication with Telegram;
• processing of sensor readings;
• saving settings and history;
• memory management;
• automatic recovery after a freeze or loss of connection.
• Powered by a power adapter (USB Type-C; preferably a power adapter with a maximum output of 5 V–2 A, such as one used for a smartphone)
- from a portable charger
It has its own 18650-capacity battery (mAh) and can operate for up to 12 hours in standalone mode
Temperature and Humidity Sensor
• The HTU21D digital sensor is used for measurement.
• The software provides for:
• a temperature range from −40 to +125 °C;
• a humidity range from 0 to 100%;
• readings updated approximately once per second;
• checking readings for errors;
• filtering of random spikes;
• re-reading of suspicious values;
• saving the last valid reading in the event of a brief sensor failure.
• Temperature can be calibrated using:
• temperature offset;
• temperature coefficient.
• Humidity can be adjusted using a separate offset.
• Temperature and Humidity Control
• The user can set:
• the desired temperature;
• the permissible temperature deviation;
• the desired humidity;
• the permissible humidity deviation;
• the delay before confirming a fault.
• For example, if the following are set:
• temperature — 37.8 °C;
• permissible deviation — ±0.3 °C;
• the normal range will be approximately 37.5 to 38.1 °C.
• If the temperature or humidity exceeds the permissible limits and remains there for longer than the set delay, the device will register an alarm.
• Available alarms:
• high temperature;
• low temperature;
• high humidity;
• low humidity;
• power failure.
• The alarm confirmation delay can be set within a range of 0 to 300 seconds. The default value is 10 seconds. This protects against false alarms caused by short-term fluctuations.
Power Supply Monitoring
• The device has a separate input for monitoring the presence of the main power supply.
• It can:
• detect a power outage;
• detect when power is restored;
• count the total number of outages;
• record the time of the last outage;
